i feel like the producers of great comet just dont have enough confidence in it as a show / pushed the Star Performer angle too hard with josh groban and now aren’t sure how to advertise it as a piece of theatre in its own right and i feel like instead of trying to get star replacements to bring in audiences they should have more confidence in the fact that the technical aspects of the show were good enough to get it 12 tony noms (and its wins were in design categories NOT acting categories although that isnt to say that the nominated actors werent great) and just try and market it as a unique and excellent show in its own right
