In my experience, the 7th house and the 3rd house are more about your personal friendships. A best friend is seen from the 7th house. Acquaintances can be seen from the 3rd. The reason I’ve never been able to understand why the 11th house is “the house of friendship” is because I’ve never seen it so. The 11th is an air House, so it’s a social House, no doubt about it. But it’s way too above the horizon and a part of the collective quadrant of houses to have anything to do with your personal friendships. Your friendships can be found in the 5th house too, opposite the 11th. But what the 11th DOES represent is groups - this is political groups, social groups, groups of any kind where people may not know each other personally, where who you are isn’t considered - you are considered in the context of the group. It’s about teamwork as well, being part of a team working towards a goal or something. But having fun type of friendship and casual hanging with your friends is the 5th house, and acquaintances that you know is the 3rd. Your closest people are in the 7th. I’ve never been able to identify the 11th with personal friendships.
